Auto Allowance Grant

Eligible veterans can receive $21,488.29 to use toward the purchase of a wheelchair-accessible vehicle. The grant must be approved by the VA and gets paid directly to the seller of the vehicle. Visit the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs website to apply.

Automobile Adaptive Equipment Program

Through the AAE program offered by the VA, physically challenged veterans receive the training and approval they need to operate mobility adapted vehicles and equipment. Necessary equipment that is needed to operate or travel in a vehicle will also be provided by the VA. Qualifying equipment includes platform wheelchair lifts, lowered floors, raised roofs and doors, power door openers, hand controls, and kneeling, braking, and digital driving systems.
